As a personality psychologist, I have an advantage because personality as a discipline is tasked with identifying the way that these many systems work together.  This research focus allows me to identify repeating themes and highlight them for students while putting an emphasis on the way that these systems work together to help people function in their environment.  I try to help students identify ways to to apply psychological information to their own lives.  Finally, I connect psychology to other academic disciplines and to the greater culture.
